From 16 to 18 October 2026, Marina Orikum became a meeting point for the international maritime community, hosting the second edition of Balkans Sea Fair (BSF). Bringing together maritime operators, yacht brands, entrepreneurs, investors and institutional representatives, the event highlighted Albania’s growing potential in yachting, nautical tourism and the wider blue economy.
Set along the spectacular Ionian coastline, the existing marina provided the setting for three days of exhibitions, networking and industry discussions, connecting Albania with regional and international markets. The participation of operators from eight countries reflected increasing interest in Albania as an emerging destination for maritime business and investment.
A key highlight of the event was the Balkans Blue Economy Summit, which brought industry stakeholders together to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the maritime sector. Topics included sustainable marina infrastructure, regional connectivity through Corridor VIII, links between Italy, Albania and the Balkans, and the role of innovation, artificial intelligence, research and specialized skills in advancing the industry.
With the official patronage of Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and the participation of the UN Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC), BSF 2026 further strengthened its international dimension, reinforcing the importance of cooperation and sustainability in the development of the maritime economy.
The event also welcomed institutional representatives, including Albania’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Blendi Gonxhja, and Vlora Mayor Brunilda Mersini. Discussions underlined the role that international events can play in positioning Vlora as a destination for premium tourism, water sports and investment, while encouraging sustainable growth that benefits local communities.
For Concord Group, the fair also offered an opportunity to present its long-term vision for Marina Orikum. Building on the existing marina, the proposed development aims to transform the area into an integrated coastal destination combining maritime infrastructure, hospitality, residential spaces and leisure facilities. The master vision includes a marina, a five-star hotel, private villas, residential units and dedicated tourism and recreation areas.
By bringing together industry expertise, international business and investment perspectives, Balkans Sea Fair helped create new connections and open conversations about Albania’s maritime future.
With Marina Orikum as its host, BSF 2026 highlighted the opportunities emerging at the intersection of yachting, tourism and investment, while showcasing Concord Group’s ambition to contribute to the next chapter of Albania’s coastal development.
